Robbie was sitting in the middle of the gym floor. Today had really sucked. Nothing was going right. The second he got out of bed this morning, he tripped and hit his nose really hard on the end table. Then he ran into a really pretty girl in the hallway and accidently spilled his coffee all over her. Then, she slapped him hard across the face. During class, he had forgotten all of his notes. The teacher called him out in front of everyone and the whole class was laughing.
Now Robbie was sitting here, cross-legged on the gym floor. Class had let out an hour ago, but he didn't want to get up. He knew that something bad would end up happening. Now there were no more kids here to hit him in the face with basket balls. This place seemed like a safe zone. That what he needed.
His outfit today was nothing out of the ordinary. He was wearing a navy hoodie and his usual, faded, skinny jeans. Around his head was his hippie head band. On his feet were his moccasins.

Rori walked into the gym. Lost? Yep. Caring? Not so much. She was wandering. She had a free period. She wasn't watching where she was walking. Currently she had her nose stuck in a book, it was called "The Scot, the Witch, and the Wardrobe". A seriously amusing novel about a witch, who didn't know she was a witch, and a scottish pariah. In short it was one of those smutty novels with no actual meaning whatsoever. Which was ok, considering she wasn't reading it to have a profound life experience.
Walking into the gym she never even notice the boy sitting on the floor. She just continued walking, to attempt to leave the gym through the opposite door. Unfortunately there was a boy sitting in her direct path. This was not a good combination. She tripped over the poor boy and smacked her forehead on the hardwood floor. "I'm soooo sorry!" Rori exclaimed, getting off of the boy. On top of it all she lost her place in her book.

Robbie was too intent on starring at the wall, wandering the thoughts in his own mind about world peace, to notice the girl who had walked into the gym. It wasn't until she tripped over him, that he's really realized she was there. Robbie, of course, fell over in the collision. The sound of the girl hitting the floor didn't sound very pleasant to him.
He sat back up without saying much, trying to rub the shocked look from his eyes. He was not expecting that at all. She was already apologizing when he finally snapped out of it.
"No, no! Don't worry! It's my fault. I shouldn't have been sitting here! I'm so sorry!"
Robbie then put a hand on the girl's forehead to feel for a bump or an injury of any sort.
"Are you alright, love?"
He didn't like it when other people got hurt because of him. It made him feel like an awful person. Robbie always tried helping people. This was just another thing to add to his bad day.

Rorianna rolled her eyes when he told her it was his fault. He was just sitting there, how could he do anything to hinder her? "No it was me, I should have been watching where I was going." She said, lifting her book, trying to find her place in the book so she could mark it. She didn't want to have to look for her place later on.
"I'm fine, I'm used to getting my head bumped." She said, trying to play it off like she was clumsy. She was used to headwounds because of her mother giving her blows to the head. Not fun but that was the facts of life. The woman never wanted her as much as her father did. She was the reason Rorianna was so eager to some to this school.
She found him a little odd, and kind of funny in an eccentric way. Most people would have been angry by her lack of paying attention. Walking and reading was not something suggested by most people. She couldn't help it though, it's not like she had anyone to talk to. She was never a particularly social girl and she was new at school. Not a very good combo.

Even thought Robbie was convinced that this whole thing was his fault, he didn't want to argue with her over it. He was the one randomly sitting in the middle of the gym floor. Most would find that a rather odd place to choose as a hide-out from a bad day. Either way, he was more concerned for the well-being of the girl that had smacked into him. He could still hear the sound of her forehead hitting the ground in his mind. If it was him, he'd probably be whimpering by now. Then again, Robbie was sort of a wimp. That's why plenty of guys from this school seemed rather fond of using him as a human punching bag. Beat the Hippie seemed to be the new game in this school lately. It was his own fault though. He was always running around sticking Save the Whales! fliers to the backs of beafy jock guys.
"Can I get you anything? Like an ice pack? I could run down to the nurse's office right away if you need me too."

"I'll be ok, honestly I'm used to it by now." She laughed. She closed the book that now had one dog-eared page to mark her place. She was such a fanatic when it came to her books she rarely ever bent the pages. This one she got used and was already dog-eared to death. She could deal with the pages getting folded in an already bent book. She was now sitting on the floor across from the boy.
"What brings you here anyways?" She asked trying to strike up a conversation. She wasn't usually chatty but she would take her chances when she could get them. The slightly weird girl who said things that really ought to be kept to herself, was not the most popular person in the world. "My Name is Rorianna by the way, most people call me Rori though." She added, realizing she never introduced herself to the boy she practically ran over.

Robbie still felt like he should be getting her ice her, but again, he just let this one go. Arguing was not his thing. The question about why he was here left him with a puzzling stare. She would probably think he was insane if he told her, because most people would agree that using the gym as a safe spot from horrible coincidences all happening in one day was a dumb idea. Either way, a lie would be even dumber. He could say he was waiting for someone, but he just wouldn't really feel right. Plus he didn't really feel like weaving a web of lies. He always eventually got caught in those; even the ones he didn't make.
"I'm hiding out from a bad day," Robbie laughed off the truth.
The boy couldn't help but smile when she gave him her name. She was the first person in this school to give him her name first. Usually he was always the one introducing himself. It was nice to have a bit of change.
"It's very nice to meet you. My name is Robert, but... no one calls me that," Robbie laughed. "Everyone just calls me Robbie."
